God is always speaking. God does not only speak through prophets. Who He chooses to speak through is done with intent, for many are called but few are CHOSEN. But what Is that God looks for in choosing who He will speak through?
- A Willing Vessel
God looks for those who are willing to be used. Those who are willing to take the time to listen and speak what He is saying. Vessels who are surrendered and desiring for His Voice to be heard. He searches for someone who will take the time both in prayer and study, showing themselves approved to be a voice of truth. If you want to hear God speak through others as well as speak directly to you, look for these commonalities. Who is walking in godly character and willing to be used around you?
God speaks through those who are integris, of good moral character. Who does God speak through? People who will walk in the truth not just speak it. Those who are willing to display His attributes such as honor and wisdom.
Those who love Him and love others. God desires to speak through all His people, this is why we were given the great commission in Mark 16. God speaks through those who are intimate with Him, who are staying close enough to hear. Those who have and are continously applying that which God has spoken and is speaking. Those who have Godly character, after His own heart.
God uses vessels like microphones, whether preaching/teaching the written word or prophetic gifts speaking words in season. Location comes into this because God speaks different words of encouragement, warnings and instruction to different people at different times.
Spheres of Influence
For example the “word” to the USA may be different than the “word” to Africa. The word to intercessors may be different than to missionaries. When Go searches the earth looking for a vessel, an instrument by His infinite wisdom many factors are taken into account. If He wants to speak a word coorporately to the Body of Christ, He will factor in influence, platform size and even use multiple vessels to disperse the word.
Why does all this matter?
If we want to be used by God to speak His word, we can partner with meeting specific requirements as we stay willing. Like the telephone we call in prayer, spend time in the conversation and listen and record all that He speaks. We learn to ask questions and engage with Him as we become His Voice wherever He has located us.
We guard our heart, as children obedient to His Word spoken and written. Always being of good moral, and godly character; He will speak and share with each of His sons and daughters.
Whether He allows you to speak to one or millions does not determine the value of the message, nor does it determine your value. The obedience and faithfulness you display determines your value in being a messenger of God. Your character.

Encourage or Warn?
As God began to speak this to me and tell me to write it down, I captured a glimpse of truth. God is speaking in many ways. He speaks through His written word and His still small voice via the Holy Spirit. Also through dreams, visions, symbols and even numbers. He speaks through nature and people. He will speak in many ways. Who does God speak through? Many, God speaks through many vessels.
Voice of Many Waters
God is speaking through your life even if His message going forth is a disciplinary warning to others! Think about that! Those who pull away, allow habitual sin into their life sends a message of do not sin, do not back away or you will end up like this person. Often He is speaking, even though this one fell, I went and RESCUED them and redeemed them. See I am Merciful.
At other times, it is if you stand and fight in faith you will be VICTORIOUS! He speaks that He is the HEALER, the Deliverer. He sends a message of being the Provider. A loving Father. God is speaking through your life, what are others hearing?
Do you desire for God to CHOOSE you to speak encouragement through? Ask! Listen! Knock! Seek! Study Him and His Word. Pull CLOSER!
And when He allows you to be a messenger, do not compare the message He gives you or yourself to others. Don’t compare the size of the listeners and place a value.
Be FAITHFUL stewards with the little and He will give much! Be diligent to obey all that He commands and He will take pleasure and you will find Favor with the Most POWERFUL Voice in all the earth! Let your life speak! May your sound be glorious! Let your mouth be filled with praise and Thanksgiving, for SURELY He inhabits( abides, lives in, fills) the PRAISES of His people. And it is God who gives grace to the HUMBLE!
Jesus gave us the first commandment in Mark 12:30, “You shall love theLordyour God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.Thisisthe first commandment.”
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Ez. 22:30
Who does God speak through?
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
